Order of the Vendian Crown.
Description.
The order is a
Maltese cross of white enamel, with griffins between the rays of the cross and the suspension, in the form of a crown.
On the obverse is a blue enamel medallion depicting the Vendian crown.
Depending on the duchy, the motto was applied to the red rim of the medallion: for Mecklenburg-Schwerin, “PER ASPERA AD ASTRA” (Through thorns to the stars), for Strelitz, “AVITO VIRET HONORE” (Flourishes with generic honor).
The reverse of the medallion is on a blue background the golden monogram of the Duke-co-founder: "FF II" (by the name of Frederick Franz II) or "FW" (by the name of Frederick William).
Also, a cast monogram connected the sign of the order of the upper class with the crown.
Manufacturing Techniques: casting, stamping, engraving.
