    Description

This, 9" x 12" (image size) original, genuine photograph, from the 1940s, or earlier, was in the private collection of Jack Weldon Teagarden, famous trombonist, and friend/partner of famous international entertainer/singer, Louis Armstrong.  I have hundreds of, signed, articles and photographs of the jazz greats, including, Stan Getz, Earl Hines, Cozy Cole, Arvell Shaw, George Shearing, Bobby Hackett, etc.  Sometimes, as in this photograph, it seems more important that it is not signed.  This photograph had a purpose to use in publicity publications, and to hang on a jazz great's wall.  I have treasured it, and I know that you will, as well.
Jack, even today, is known as one of the innovators of jazz trombone and jazz scat singing.  Teagarden and Armstrong were lifelong friends and traveled the world, with their amazing entertaining abilities.
This, very rare, over-sized, genuine photograph, was taken and printed by Sam Andre, who was known for his person photos of many of the musical stars and movie stars of the early to mid twentieth century.
This photograph was in Jack Teagarden's personal collection of the memorabilia of his life.  As you may already know, Addie Teagarden, Jack's wife and manager was a great personal friend of mine throughout the 1980s, until her death, in the early 1990s.  Being in the entertainment business, myself, for 60 years, Addie and I had so many stories to share.
This photograph, in its matte, hung in the Teagarden household, originally, in a very simple, black frame.  It is now missing it's frame. It is a great piece of jazz history, and is, therefore in great demand, especially to have been taken by photographer, Sam Andre.
Knowing Addie Teagarden, started my quest to buy all of the Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden original, genuine items that I could find.  Needless to say, I have accomplished my goal and have accumulated a huge collection of jazz and big band photographs, signatures, records, musical instruments, and letters which were sent by the greats and sent to the greats.  All of my collection involves the great bandleaders, from Paul Whiteman, to Duke Ellington, and famous people, from John F. KENNEDY, to Buzz Aldrin.
This particular photo was actually owned and displayed by Jack Teagarden.  It was, lovingly, given to me, by Addie Teagarden.
At my age (78), I am beginning to sell a lifelong, eclectic, collection of unique artwork.  I enjoyed this great collection.  Now, it's time to share it with others.
If you'll notice, I will be selling my entire collection, which I have accumulated for over 50 years.  My feedbacks reflect my honesty and fairness.  I have been selling on Ebay for over fifteen years, but, now it is time to share this great collection of paintings, music memorabilia, jazz and rock records, statues, political history, antique books, vaudeville, Louis Armstrong, and genuine, original, signed photos and,  etc., etc.
Thank you for looking - and please keep me on your favorite sellers list.  If YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, I AM VERY COMMUNICATIVE.
    Best Regards,
    JIMMY N
