    FUN FACTS
    🔴
Proofs inexplicably sheet as common dates even though certain other key date proofs are worth nearly as much as business strikes, such as 1877 cents and 1844 dimes.
WE PAY WAY OVER SHEET, which is laughably low.
The population reports are grossly inflated with resubmissions and crossovers of the same coins.
Some of the tiny 725 proof mintage were actually business strikes because the Mint ran out of proofs! Thus, proofs are even rarer than the minuscule mintage suggests.
PR68 DCAM in the giant scam that is the raw coin (and "third world" slab) business.
Lines and marks as always for PR64CAM but fewer and lighter than expected. And the majority of the lines are from Mint-made die polishing that do not even effect the grade and actually make the coin brighter and flashier.
,295 APR for dark PR62 in 2019 (click the 4th image).
,595 for XF that may be a circulated proof (3rd image).
PCGS heavily markets BILLION-mintage modern coins, which creates artificial demand, grossly inflated prices, and GIGANTIC profits. But PCGS ignores this 625-mintage key because it is far too rare to promote and from which to profit, so demand and thus prices stay absurdly low.
Seriously, ,500 PCGS Price Guide for a 5.4 BILLION-mintage 1975 penny in two grades below MS70? We would not pay for it. But ,100 for this 725-mintage key in PR64CAM?
Most modern coins can be bought at or near face value, melt value, or Mint-issue price; placed in a plastic slab (PCGS bulk rate); and sold for hundreds or thousands of dollars. But try doing that with with this 3,000-mintage key. We only deal in truly rare coins, not fabricated illusions designed to make coin dealers rich.
Ask your modern coin dealer if he will buy back for 90% less seller's expenses, as we will. Or even 10%.
Neither conserved nor doctored, unlike most Seated proofs in "problem free" PCGS slabs.
Could upgrade after conservation but we prefer originality.
Many tallied in the population reports are resubmissions or crossovers of the same coins. Even so, population just 216 in ALL grades combined. Much rarer than many other dates.
