    Description

1847 Seated Liberty Dime PCGS VF35 SS Central America Shipwreck Silver w/ Pinch.
This special piece was from the famous S.S. Central America shipwreck, and is well preserved after over 150 years on the ocean floor! This coin has plenty eye appeal for the grade, especially considering what this coin has been through. This coin was found in the Purser's safe which helped keep it relatively well preserved compared to many shipwreck silver coins which are harshly corroded. This coin is a true piece of history that will be cherished by the new owner for years to come. A neat coin to spice up your collection with. Much of the ship's cargo was gold but it is rumored that the silver coinage was intended to pay the ship's crew. The gold coins from this shipwreck are without a doubt more expensive but the silver coins are much rarer.
Housed in an oversized PCGS holder with a pinch of gold dust from the S.S. Central America.
This Shipwreck is perhaps the most famous and important shipwreck to the United States numismatic community. There is so much interesting history tied to these coins and the shipwreck in general.
